The idea of a diamond is wrapped up with ideas of high glamour and aspiration, which is part of the magic of the worlds rarest stone; however, just because a diamond screams glamour, this does not mean that they should be prohibitively expensive, and diamonds are so versatile that they are available for all sorts of styles and settings, and for all kinds of budgets.

The most significant factor that will impinge on the cost of your diamond rings will be the carat of the stone. Essentially this means the size of the diamond, and therefore the smaller the diamond the less it is likely to cost. There is no reason, of course why a smaller diamond should look any less glamorous than a larger stone, and therefore by choosing an elegantly set demure diamond, you can save on cost, without compromising on quality.

The cut of your diamond wedding rings will also have an effect in the price. Unfortunately there is less room to compromise in this regard, and if your diamond has been cut to a low standard then it will fail to achieve that all important “dazzle” which gives diamonds wedding rings and engagement rings their aesthetic quality.

Beyond the diamond itself, there are also other factors which will affect the affordability of diamond rings; for example, the setting of the ring will in part determine its value. With this in mind, simple prong settings for diamond wedding rings or engagement rings, will be less expensive than tension or bezel settings.
